The Telangana government fears the entry of Amul milk into the state which could have its affect on the government run Vijaya Dairy. But the state government is not opposing the entry of Amul Milk into state and the only thing that is objectionable is, Amul is procuring milk from Gujarat, transporting through containers to Mother Dairy for processing, packaging and marketing. This could hurt the sentiments of local dairy farmers.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation [GCMMF] has signed a deal with Nalgonda Ranga Reddy Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Union Limited, shortly called Narmac for the processing, packaging and marketing of Amul milk in the state. But Vijaya Dairy claims this deal between Narmac and GCMMF is not valid. Narmac cannot assist GCMMF, as the land given to Narmac is owned by government and we appeal to the government that Narmac should not provide any sort help to GCMMF.
The issue was brought to the notice of Telangana Agriculture and Animal Husbandary minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy. He ordered an inquiry based on the claims of Vijaya Dairy over the land dispute. But the government is heard to be on the side of local diary farmers and at the same time is in no mood to oppose Amul milk entry into the state.
