The Union Home Ministry has asked all the states to ensure proper security arrangements at places of worship, especially in communally-sensitive areas, ahead of the Diwali festival. Intelligence reports say that terrorists might strike any shrine in the the country and create havoc.

Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Ahmedabad are warned especially by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The chief secretary has sent a note to all the important cities where there is a threat.
