The Meteorological Department on Monday has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand in the next 40 hours. Areas of the state including Nainital, Chamoli, Champawat, Uttarkashi and the state capital Dehradun are expected to witness heavy rain fall and the government as directed the officials to get ready for rescue operations.

Meanwhile at least six people were killed in a landslide on Sunday morning. CM Harish Rawat expressed his condolences and added the kin of victims will be compensated.
