Uttarakhand Tragedy: 32 Dead And 197 Still Missing:- The Uttarakhand tragedy left the whole nation in deep shock after the glacier burst in the state that left hundreds missing. The rescue operations are going on for the past couple of days and the reports say that close to 197 people are still missing. The death toll in the tragedy reached 32 and the flash floods swept away several properties in the low-lying regions. NTPC's 480 MW Tapovan-Vishnugad hydropower project is mostly damaged and several homes are swept away. 600 personnel from the Indian Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are taking care of the rescue operations.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat thanked the ITBP jawans for their efforts because of which the transportation was resume completely. The road connectivity for the villages Raini Palli, Pang, Lata, Suraithota, Suki, Bhalgaon, Tolma, Fagrasu, Long Segdi, Gahar, Bhangyul, Juwagwad and Jugju continues to be impacted and the rescue teams are working hard to resume them at the earliest. Several divers are working on the rescue operations in the tunnel. There are talks that 25-35 people more are trapped inside the tunnel which is 2.5 km long. The water level in the tunnel is rising and the rescue teams could not make any contact with the workers that are trapped inside.
