Uttarakhand Tragedy: 26 Traced Dead And 171 Still Missing:- The Uttarakhand tragedy shattered the lives of hundreds of people and the glacier burst left hundreds buried and missing. Over 500 personnel are working on the rescue operations and 26 bodies are recovered till date. As per the records, 171 people are still missing. It is predicted that 35 people are supposed to be in the tunnel. Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are taking care of the rescue operations. Around 90-meter stretch of debris has been cleared from the big tunnel and 100 meters is yet to be cleared. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat visited the spot and monitored the rescue operations. He said that the entire stretch is expected to be cleared by this evening.

He announced a financial aid of Rs 4 lakhs for the families of those killed in the glacier burst. The incident took place in the Rishiganga power project in Tapovan region. The entire dam was damaged in the blast. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that the Indian government is taking all the measures to support the people of the state. Basharat Ahmad Zargar, a resident of Soura area of Srinagar who works as an engineer on the spot is missing from the project. The rescue operations came to a halt last night and they are resumed this morning. RK Singh, Minister of State (IC) Power and New & Renewable Energy, MoS in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship visited the tragedy site.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the breaking of the glacier may have led to the tragedy. The experts of DRDO, ISRO and other agencies are probing into the matter.
