Jet Airways Founder Arrested:- On Friday Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal in connection with a money laundering scam of Rs 539 Cr to Canara Bank.

Goyal was interrogated by ED officials in Mumbai, as he was not cooperating with officials, ED officials took him into custody and brought him to Delhi from Mumbai. Today he will be produced before the court.

To the complaint of Canara Bank on May 3rd, CBI has filed a case and started an investigation, Naresh Goyal related Jet Airways has been dealing with Canara bank since 2005. Goyal’s wife Anita, Gaurang Shetty and some unknown persons were also added as accused in CBI’s FIR.

Canara Bank before approaching the CBI audited the transactions and documents between April 1 2011 to June 19 2019. They found some irregularities and siphoned off funds, which is nothing but a diversion. They submitted the report in 2021. The bank carried out the action after Goyal failed to repay the loan availed from the consortium.

The loans were taken by the company in order to plan new routes and business promotions. But the airways siphoned the loan funds. Companies Auditor Rajesh Chaturvedi's premises were also seized by the CBI.

Jet Airways claims that since August 2018, the company has been facing operational issues and it landed in financial stress.
