GST Revenue Rise By 28 Percent In July:- The GST collection in July reported a record number of Rs 1,48,995 crores which is the second highest ever and it is majorly contributed by the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Lakshadweep is the best when it comes to one-year growth and the jump is 69 percent. Bihar and Tripura performed their best. Maharashtra collected the highest ever GST at Rs 22,129 crores and is followed by Karnataka with Rs 9795 crores. Gujarat stands third with Rs 9183 crores and Tamil Nadu is in the fourth place with Rs 8449 crores. Uttar Pradesh is in the fifth place with Rs 7074 crores.
Haryana (Rs 6791 crores), Telangana (Rs 4547 crores), West Bengal (Rs 4441 crores), Delhi (Rs 4327 crores) and Rajasthan (Rs 3671 crores) are the other top contributors in the top ten among the the GST contributors. The above amounts will not include the GST on the import of the goods. Lakshadweep witnessed a huge jum with 69 percent when compared to July last year. Puducherry and Ladakh witnessed a jump of 54 percent and Nagaland saw a growth of 48 percent. Karnataka (45 percent) and Goa (43 percent) are next in the list.Bihar and Tripura are the only states that reported negative growth in GST of 1 percent and 3 percent respectively. The total amount collected in the month of July 2022 is Rs 1.49 lakh crores.
The GST revenue collected last year was Rs 1,16,393 crores and this year, there was a 28 percent jump.
