Now, the AP Assembly decided to withdraw the dissolution of the Legislative Council. Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, the Minister for Legislative Affairs introduced the resolution in the House. He said that the Council was dissolved as some of the decisions were made against the government.
"There should be amendments made for the Council and the Council should be involved in suggestions. The Assembly will be accountable for the laws and the decisions made by the government of Andhra Pradesh. In January 2020, we felt that the Legislative Assembly was not needed. Several Indian states dissolved the Council and some of them resolved the issues and the Council is active. The Council turned out to be a barrier for several key decisions made by the government" told Buggana. The newly elected MLCs will soon be present in the Council and will take the oath very soon. 11 MLCs are expected to enter the house while 3 of them took oath today.
