Hathras Case: Ten Days for SIT to Submit a Complete Report:- The Hathras rape case on a dalit girl created enough sensation and outrage across the country. The government of Uttar Pradesh along with the Police department was badly criticized for a series of happenings after the incident. Four culprits who brutally raped the dalit girl are taken into the custody. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the matter of the 19-year-old Dalit woman who hails from Hathras in UP. The government of Uttar Pradesh asked the SIT to submit a complete report within ten days.
After the primary investigation and the first report, Yogi Adityanath suspended Hathras Superintendent of Police, DSP and other top cops of the region. There are talks that the cops would undergo narcoanalysis and polygraph tests soon. The SIT team is staying in the village for the past three days and recorded the statements of the victim's family. Yogi Adityanath also ordered a CBI probe in the incident. The Department of Forensic Medicine at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of Aligarh Muslim University said that there was no evidence of rape in the dalit girl. The certificate was submitted with an affidavit to the Supreme Court by the government of Uttar Pradesh.
The Supreme Court asked the UP Government to submit a report on the incident by October 8th about the steps to be taken to protect all the witnesses and the family members of the dalit girl. On the other side, Congress slammed the government of Uttar Pradesh saying that the government is busy covering up the Hathras case. Congress demanded a judicial inquiry in the case.
