Ramesh Kumar Files One More Case Against AP Government:- The State Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar was removed by the Andhra Pradesh government after he postponed the local body polls because of the coronavirus pandemic. The battle went on and the Supreme Court, AP High Court asked the YSRCP government to re-appoint him till the completion of his tenure. Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar now filed a contempt case in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh against the government of Andhra Pradesh for not honoring the court's decision. In his case, Ramesh Kumar made it clear that he was not re-appointed as the State Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh.
He said that the AP government failed to honor the order of the High Court. Ramesh Kumar was in news yesterday after the CCTV footage of Ramesh Kumar's meeting with BJP MP Sujana Chowdary and BJP leader Kamineni Srinivas went viral. A day after this, Ramesh Kumar filed a contempt case against the government of Andhra Pradesh. The government of Andhra Pradesh appointed Kanagaraju from Tamil Nadu as the new SEC and the High Court revealed their decision on May 29th.
After the Supreme Court supported the High Court's decision, YS Jagan's government did not re-appoint Ramesh Kumar. The High Court is expected to reveal its decision soon.
