Supreme Court Slams Centre About Permanent Commissions For Women Army Officials:- The Supreme Court slammed the Centre for not allowing the Delhi High Court's 2010 order to grant permanent commission to women Army officials. The top court once again clarified that the permanent commission will be applicable to all the women officers in Indian Army irrespective of their service. Dated September 2nd 2011, the Supreme Court made sure that there is no stay on the Delhi High Court verdict. Despite of this, the contentions of Centre regarding the women officials are disturbing.

The Centre filed an affidavit last year in May said that the women officers who already completed 14 years of their service will be allowed to remain till they complete 20 years of service. All these will be eligible to get pensions. Several women Army officers moved to Supreme Court for permanent commission and the top court responded today. Though Narendra Modi in August 2018 announced to grant permanent commission for women officers, it was in March 2019, the defense ministry announced short service commission.
