Kacheguda Accident: MMTS Loco Pilot's Leg Amputated:- The shocking train accident in Kacheguda recently after two trains collided left many injured. The loco pilot of the MMTS train was stuck in the train's cabin for eight long hours after which he was rescued. He was rushed to Care Hospital, Nampally and his health condition continued to be critical. The right leg of L Chandrasekhar was amputated last evening. The MMTS trained rammed into Kurnool City-Secunderabad Handri Neeva Intercity Express at Kacheguda on Monday.
There was extensive vascular damage to his limb and the vascular surgeons had to go ahead with the amputation above his knee. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had to use electric cutters to rescue Chandrasekhar. An injury to his right lower limb resulted in the compression of arteries and there was no blood supply to his right leg. After a series of consultations, the doctors decided to remove his right leg. Chandrasekhar's health remained to be critical and he is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Care Hospitals. He is on ventilator support and continuous renal replacement therapy with inotropic support.
The preliminary inquiry of the railway officials said that the loco pilot was at fault and he crossed the red signal after which the accident happened.
