TS State Formation Day Celebrations At Shilparamam:- The cultural hub of Hyderabad city, Shilparamam is all set to unveil an extravaganza of Telangana folk culture and Indian classic dances, as part of the State Formation Day celebrations.
According to a press release, the celebrations would be for three days starting from June 2. The students of Dr.Suparna Venkatesh of Sai Arts International would start the festivities with a Bharatanatyam performance. The Nrityantar Dance Ensemble will present an Odissi dance by Madhulita Mohapatra, on the second day. And on June 4, on the final day of the event, the students of Articulate Dance Studios of Guru Mysore, B. Nagaraj will perform Kathak. The students of the Studio Train in Jaipur, Lucknow and Banaras Gharanas of the dance and their highly-acclaimed thematic home productions are something to look forward to.
All the three days will have folk-dance performances from all over the Telangana and offering a peek into the rich heritage of the State. Following these would be the classical dance presentations.
The presentations include Dappu dance, the Gusadi dance of Gonds, the Lambadi dance, Mathuri dance and Oggu Dollu. The Dappu dance involves beating on a goat skin, tambourine like drum with sticks by 16 to 20 dancers wearing anklets. The Gusadi dance of Gonds is a colorful masquerade dance, where five to six dancers dress themselves with peacock feathers, deer horns, fake beards and goatskin, the press release added.
