PM Modi Pays Last Rites to Jayalalitha, Consoles Panneerselvam & Ms.Natarajan

After President Pranab Mukherjee's visit at Jayalalitha's funeral, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Chennai and flew to the Rajaji hall in a chopper.

He paid last rites to Ms Jayalalithaa and laid a bouquet. Mr Panneerselvam, broke down and the PM was seen consoling the leader. PM Modi affectionately patted him and asked him to be strong.

PM Modi was also consoled Ms Jayalalithaa's long-time companion Sasikala Natarajan on her head. Ms Natarajan also broke down. He spoke to her for few minutes before leaving the place.

Mr Panneerselvam took oath as Chief Minister after the news about Ms Jayalalithaa died was announced by Apollo hospital. The Chief Minister got a heart attack on Sunday evening after which she was put on life support for a day.

Police had tightened the security when Prime Minister visited Rajaji Hall, but huge chaos took place and police somehow managed the crowd.  PM Modi greeted the crowd and asked them not to take photographs.
