Bangalore has recently earned the name 'garbage city' with the increasing menace of garbage in the city but the survey from Mercer a HR consulting firm says other wise, as it was listed the best city in the nation in terms of quality of living.
The survey was conducted on an international scale considering the top notch cities in the world. Bangalore was rated 139th among the cities of the world as it preceded all other Indian cities like Delhi (143), Mumbai (146), Chennai (150) and Kolkata (151) as the organization assessed the quality of living, overall.
Vienna was the best place to live in according to the survey while Zurich and Auckland followed to claim the penultimate spots.
The reason for Bangalore being hailed as the best in the country is primarily for the international schools that it is home to. Internal stability, effective law enforcement, healthcare facilities, and criminal activity in the areas are measured to rank a place on the terms of quality of living.
Most people said that the warm nature of the city and the people apart from numerous job opportunities and a good education system made the city the finest in India. Weather also played an important role apart from medical facilities at the city. However, in terms of infrastructure in the city, Bangalore fared poorer than the others, as Mumbai led the list from India at 131st rank.
