Though the recent regulation would not help you save big bucks when you go for a fuel refill, the announcement that petrol would be sold at least 95 paise cheaper from tomorrow is always pleasant to the ears. The 95 paise cut in the price applies to Delhi while other cities would have similar slash in the petrol prices to bring merry shortly after Diwali.
Petrol would cost Rs 67.24 from tomorrow after the 95 paise slash from midnight. The Mumbaikars have a Rs 1.20 reduction bringing down their petrol prices to Rs 73.53, Chennai Rs 70.57. The Rs 1.19 drop in price of petrol at Kolkata pegs the price at Rs 71.77 starting tomorrow morning. The variation in the prices reflects the differential VAT or sales tax as applicable.
This is the second regulation since the 56 paisa cut per liter on October 9 following which there was a hike of 29 paise soon after. The latest reduction is due to the reduced global gasoline prices, which were termed relatively stable by the Indian Oil Corp, the number one fuel retailer in India.
The price in Hyderabad and Bangalore would be reduced by a rupee to Rs 73.98 per liter and Rs 74.47 respectively.
