Sonia Hosts Dinner For Opposition: New Alliance On Cards:- United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi who has been away from politics from some time hosted a lavish dinner last night in the national capital and leaders of 20 opposition parties made their presence. This has been called as the foundation stone to form a strong force to tackle and face BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, former PM Manmohan Singh, Ghulam Nabi Azad, AK Antony and Ahmed Patel attended the dinner from Congress.

Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar, Omar Abdullah of the National Conference, Trinamool Congress leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Kanimozhi of the DMK, Rashtriya Lok Dal president Ajit Singh, Ram Gopal Yadav of the Samajwadi Party attended the dinner. The Bahujan Samaj Party who has been away from Congress attended the dinner. Hindustan Awami Morcha chief Jiten Ram Manjhi and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha head Babulal Marandi were named as the new entrants to the alliance.
