In a bizzar incident, a widow was gang raped and killed for not repaying the loan. According to the police, Lata Devi was a resident of Hazipur village in Uttar Pradesh. Her husband passed away 10 years ago after which she was forced to take loan from a money lender for her daughter’s marriage.

Lata took loan of Rs. 20,000 for her daughter’s marriage despite selling her land. The moneylender agreed to lend her the sum on an interest of 15 per cent. But soon after marriage, he started demanding money.

When Lata couldn’t repay the loan he said that he would not demand money from her but for that she has to be in a sexual relationship with him.

The victim helplessly agreed but after some time the money lender started forcing her to entertain his friends. When she objected, he kidnapped her and gang raped her for 1 year.

After 1 year when she threatened to go to the police, he strangled her to death and hung her body to a tree. The matter is being investigated by local police, but the victim's cousin alleged that the police are trying to protect the murderers.
