Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao specified that he will not back minister KTR as the next Chief Minister of Telangana state, if the situation arose.
Thummala who is said to be the ardent follower of Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao is well known for showering his love on him in several public meetings. But his recent comments are now creating stir within the party officials.
Reportedly, in a regional channel interview, he said, “I will stand by K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the party.” When asked about the family rule in politics, “No...I will not support it. I don’t support family rule including from my family. Where is the question of my supporting others?”, the minister added.
When asked whether the same rule would apply to KTR too, Thummala strictly said, “I don’t support family legacy in politics. No one could stop someone from climbing up the ladder if they had the mettle, including KTR.”
Thummala is fielded by TRS for the Palair bypolls. He is a very close associate of the CM KCR, right from his Telugu Desam days and was nominated as MLC and given the plum portfolio of roads and buildings.
The latest comments of Thummala is disturbing KTR and his followers, but that does not allow KCR from taking out a second thought on the minister, as the latter continued to give dedicated services to the party since long.
