If the TRS party approaches us, we would consider an alliance with it, BJP national president, Amit Shah says.
Shah said that, the BJP is confident of emerging as a strong force in Telangana by 2019, adding that, the party does not have any understanding with the TRS party, as of yet.
In the recent times, it is known that, BJP and TDP were involved in a tight rift, making one speculate that, the duo parties would no longer continue the alliance. But to the shock of many, Shah said that, the party would continue the alliance with TDP. But when he was questioned about the special status to Andhra Pradesh, he said, there are several technical and administrative issues, that are acting as the hurdles to special status.
“We are trying to do what all is possible. Otherwise also, the NDA government is committed to extending all support to AP in the same spirit,” he stressed.
Answering to the question, that Modi government is neglecting the drought ridden AP and TS, Shah clarified that the Centre is taking all steps to lend a helping hand to the Telugu states.
“We have sought all reports from each of the states and even held discussions with the respective CMs. Funds were also released. Unlike the Congress which used to hold meetings for namesake and then wash its hands off, our government is seriously addressing the issue from each state’s point of view,” Shah said.
