Special status is sanjeevani for AP, says YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy in a public meet, yesterday in Vishakhapatnam.
YSRCP leaders arranged a public meet, naming it as ‘Yuvabheri’ to inject special status issue into the public strongly. Regarding this, speaking at the meeting, Jagan said, “Special status is promised by the then Prime Minister of the country in Parliament, during the passage of Andhra Pradesh State Reorganization bill. Since then, special status has become the right of AP people.”
Not stopping there, Jagan further busted on TDP government saying, “It is our bad fortune to know that, the state government, which is supposed to strictly fight for the special status, is not at all concerned about it. None of the leaders are questioning the centre loudly.”
“Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is cornered in the cash for vote case and so is unable to question the centre strongly. How can he compromise with the future of Andhra Pradesh, just to hide his personal flaws,” Jagan questioned.
I cannot fight alone for special status- Jagan
In the Yuvabheri programme, a huge number of students from various engineering colleges, degree colleges, Andhra University, nursing schools and from various other educational institutions attended the programme.
Basing the occasion, Jagan said that, he is doing his best and fighting against the centre for the special status. “But me fighting all alone for the special status, may not work out. So I wish all of you to join my fight, for the future of Andhra Pradesh”, Jagan said.
As Andhrawishesh guessed before keeping in mind the Telangana movement, where the Osmania University students made the separate state possible, with the vigorous fight, Jagan is now aiming Andhra students for the special status. On the other side, slashing Jagan comments, it is to be seen, whether AP government, fights for the special status or still remain silent and make the people believe that, Jagan comments are true.
