After Finance Commission Report, YS Jagan Writes To Modi

After Finance Commission Report, YS Jagan Writes To Modi:- After the Centre tabled the Fifteenth Finance Commission report, Andhra Pradesh Government is in plans to seek special status for the state which has been pending from years. The Special Status was a commitment that was made during the state bifurcation in 2014 by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy now penned a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he congratulated Centre for the recent Union Budget.

YS Jagan said that the budget provided needed enthusiasm. He said that the people of Andhra Pradesh are dissatisfied on the Special Status for AP which was left pending for a long time. He said that the budget had no specific mention for Andhra Pradesh and he asked the Centre to support the state. The bifurcation benefited Telangana and not Andhra Pradesh said Jagan in his letter.

Jagan also quoted a press release that was made by the Ministry of Finance on September 8th 2016 about the Special Status for Andhra Pradesh. Jagan said that the state is suffering and is in huge financial burden. He asked the Fifteenth Finance Commission to consider their request.
