Red sandalwood case is still doing its rounds in both the states. Presently after the investigation, it is observed that few of the YSRCP leaders are involved.
Four of the YSRCP party leaders of Chittoor district are known to be having few links with the smugglers of Red sandalwood. Among them, two are identified as former ZPTC members and the other two are Sarpanch. Presently the ten of the Tamilnadu smugglers who are under the custody of the police are said to be having illegal links with these 4 YSRCP leaders.
Share of YSRCP in smuggling
Through the investigation, the smugglers gave the information that they are carrying the smuggling business with YSRCP party leaders support and one of the former minister hold the 30% share of their business. A godown at Chennai which stores these Red sandalwood is also partnered by one of the YSRCP leader. So with the given information, police decided to start further investigation on all those leaders.
Antony and Azaduddin who had escaped from police custody are said to have dealings with the smugglers in Chittoor district. But whatever, the key role played in these illegal activities was by YSRCP leaders of Chittoor and Kadapa, police opined from the investigation done.
With an international smuggler support
From the investigation, it was further known that, under Congress government, international smuggler Gangi Reddy had supported all these leaders and the smugglers, in all ways including financially.
On the other side, in North Chennai, Maadhavaram, Pulal, Sholavaram, Redhills police stations had registered several cases on Red sandalwood smuggling. AP police decided to investigate the case further, taking those police support too.
