A Chinese accused in Red sandalwood smuggling

In a joint operation conducted by the Red sandalwood Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) and the Chittoor police, the officials arrested two of the smugglers. One among them is found to be a Chinese national.

Firstly, we came to know that the smugglers are from AP and Tamilnadu and some other parts of India. But now the list is further increased and crossing the borders too. 

G. Srinivas, Superintendent of Police, Chittoor district confirmed the news that a Chinese national Yang Pang, who is a red sanders buyer from Sichuan province in China and a local red sanders smuggler Srinivasa Raju of Rayachoti of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh have been arrested.

It is known that the officials activated all the police stations that register any smuggling cases in the state. So, regarding this, at the Puthalapattu police station in Chittoor district, a case was registered on two people and as a part of an investigation, they were arrested in Hyderabad and taken to Chittoor, the official said.
 
First ever case where Chinese was caught:

Another senior police official said that this is the  first ever case handled by the AP police in which a Chinese national allegedly involved in red sanders smuggling was arrested. The Chinese embassy in Delhi is anyway informed about the issue. It is the fourth visit of the Chinese smuggler to India with a valid Visa and a Chinese passport, the official added.

The police also recovered about 10,000 yuan (Chinese currency), besides Rs 10,000 from both the accused, the official further added

Both the accused were said to be in a deal and among them Srinivasa Raju, a local smuggler was previously arrested by B Kothakota police of Chittoor district and later they were in the district court of Chittoor, SP confirmed
