The political situation in Bihar hit crisis as the chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was expelled from Janata Dal [United] party after he refused to resign In addition to this, Nitish Kumar will be meeting government along with legislators to stake claims of the government and CM post. Manjhi is currently in Delhi who has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. JD[U] expelled Manjhi on the basis of doing anti-party activities.
Reports say that Manjhi is expected to meet Bihar Governor and he will be asked to prove majority in the Assembly. Meanwhile the supporters of Manjhi approached Patna High Court stating that the legislators meeting called by Sharad Yadav is unconstitutional. On the other hand, BJP is closely observing the developments in Bihar and one of the leader said, support to Manjhi depends on the situation.
Bihar is a 243 member Assembly. The ruling Janata Dal [United] has 111, BJP 87, RJD 24, Congress five, CPI one and five are independents. It is easy for JD[U] to form fresh government with the support of RJD and Congress.
