Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu said that his government has a clear cut planning in developing the state as well as the new capital of AP. Chandrababu along with AP ministers delegation met 14th Finance Commission headed by former RBI Governor Y V Reddy in Tirupathi this afternoon and handed them two reports that reflects the AP financial position post bifurcation.
Andhra Pradesh would be looking at around Rs 3-4 lakh crore in additional allocation of grants from the Union government and would require at least Rs 1.5-2 lakh crore for building up a new state capital. Already the state government has demanded the loss of revenue due to the expected implementation of Goods and Service Tax [GST] which is around Rs 4,000 crores.
In the reports Chandrababu offered to the commission, asked for special package to Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema. The recommendation of the Finance Commission will decide special status to AP which would give it tax exemptions to attract more industry developments. Speaking after the meeting with AP CM, YV Reddy said, AP will be assisted in every possible way and we have gathered all the information and stats required. Mr. Reddy praised Chandrababu who has designed several welfare schemes for the benefit of the people.
