Manmohan bids goodbye to PMO staff

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh thanked all his personal staff for their assistance for the past years. Manmohan met the 110 member crew this morning in the South block of his office and said, “you have served the nation well. God bless you.” It was an emotional sendoff added a source.

The Prime Minister will officially demit the office on May 17th a day after the general elections results and will move to Motilal Nehru road. Manmohan is expected to give nod for the new Army chief later this evening, despite the BJP's objections.

A farewell is also being organized by Manmohan to his cabinet colleagues on Thursday and will host the last cabinet meeting on Saturday. Manmohan is expected to meet President Pranab Mukerjee on Saturday and will address the nation before stepping down from the post. Congress president Sonia Gandhi will be hosting a dinner for PM Manmohan tomorrow at her residence.

Manmohan who is workaholic did not take a single leave so far in this ten years tenure and his post retirements plans are yet to be decided.
