Dasari blames Manmohan Singh in coal blocks case

“The decisions of coal block allocations were taken by the then Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, who was also heading the Coal Ministry at that time,” Dasari Narayana Rao clarifies.

It is known that Dasari is facing the allegation of the Jharkhand’s Amarkonda Murgadangal coal blocks allocation for quite some time. Regarding the case, Dasari has attended the special court, along with the congress leader and industrialist Naveen Jindal and a few others involved in the case.

It is to be remembered that, "I was just a minister of a state. The power of allocating the coal blocks would completely be with the Coal Minister and the then Coal Minister was Manmohan Singh. So obviously he would be responsible for all the allegations related to the coal scam.”

The case is all about the irregularities in the allocation of Amarkonda Murgadangal coal blocks to two Jindal group companies, named Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and Gagan Sponge Iron Pvt Ltd (GSIPL).

Along with Dasari, 15 are accused in the case. Jindal, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda and Director of Jindal Realty Pvt Ltd Rajeev Jain are few among them.

After getting down from the Prime Minister’s chair, Manmohan Singh's name was very rarely heard in the media. After a long time, Picking up his name is creating fresh doubts among the political critics. Let us see, where the case takes the final turn.
