The World's most biggest democratic nation's elections to elect 543 members have started today in the north-east states. In the first phase, Assam and Tripura will go for voting in six constituencies and the Election Commission has ensured all the arrangements were made.
Polling will be held in nine phases over the coming 36 days and the results will be declared on May 16. Around 81.4 crore voters are eligible to vote this time.
BJP is trying hard to get back in power after being defeated for two consecutive times and have banked more on its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Congress is facing the heat of public and 2013 elections in five states were the examples. Aam Aadmi Party [AAP] from nowhere is center of attraction for this elections and they are contesting in around 400 seats.
