This time it happened in Karnataka at Haveri. The bus travelling from Bangalore to Mumbai caught fire in which 7 passengers were charred to death. 25 passengers were wounded in the incident. It happened in the early hours today when the bus hit a road divider when one of the bus tyres were burst.
The ill fated bus started at 6.30 pm on Wednesday from Bangalore met with the accident at about 2.30 am on Thursday. The bus was carrying 49 passengers in total with two drivers and a cleaner.
The driver sensing the trouble alerted the passengers immediately. Some of the passengers broke glasses and jumped out. The wounded were admitted in KIMS hospital at Hubli.
It is known from the preliminary report that the bus was moving at a speed of 140 to 150 km per hour and the flattened tyre at that speed made the bus go out of control.
The second incident or Volvo bus catching fire is making everyone to get scared of the Volvo. Before the Volvo bus caught in fire in Mahabubnagar district there were no such incidents of bus catching fire in accident. It is also making the authorities to doubt the Volvo bus construction to find out the area creating the problem which is not seen in other diesel driven vehicles.
On Octber 30, Bangalore Hyderabad private travels bus caught fire when it hit a culvert in Mahaboobnagar district at 5.00 am in which 44 passengers were burnt alive instantly to make them beyond recognition to the relatives to claim the bodies.
