AP NGOs Strike Started

4.25 lakhs of employees started an indefinite strike from midnight yesterday to protest against the CWC decision to bifurcate the State of Andhra Pradesh.  

NGOs made it clear that the strike will not be stopped till the MPs resign and join the movement of Samaikyandhra to make pressure on the Center to withdraw the bifurcation decision.  Employees of 56 departments in the State that belong to Andhra region are participating in the strike.

As per the President of AP NGO’s Association Ashok Babu, a meeting was held at Vijayawada on 4th August to make a resolution to strike from 12th midnight if all MPs of Seemandhra do not resign.

The protesters are hitting on the State revenue by including Commercial Tax, RTC and Electricity.  The discussions held by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister Anam Ramanarayana, Raghuveera Reddy, Pitani and Uttam Kumar Reddy with the leaders of the AP NGOs failed yesterday even after a two hours long persuation.

The employees working in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions and at Hyderabad are participating in the strike.

Buses to Tirumala hills totally stopped.  The employess say that it never happened in the past 38 years.
