The Advisory Committee on the Business of the Assembly met today after the Assembly is adjourned to decide the plan of action during the current session.
The Assembly sessions will last for 9 days till 21st June. TDP asked the Government to extend the Assembly Session for ten more days which was rejected by the Government. TRS wanted a resolution to be passed in the Assembly for the formation of a separate Telangana State.
On the other side, the call for 'Challo Assembly' by Telangana JAC is getting momentum. TRS announced its support to it. Ten student organization of Osmania University not only announced their support but called for the participation of the students in such a way that the Assembly will shake with tremors due to the intensity of the agitation.
Security around the Assembly beefed up with extra forces. The Police, who did not give permission for ‘Challo Assembly’, issued prohibitory orders near Assembly.
The Chief Minister said that a resolution on Telangana is not possible as the issue is not in the hands of the State Government. On the other hand, he wants his pet scheme 'Amma Hastam' to be brought under the Act. He said that it is not possible to extend the Assembly session and advised the opposition to utilize the time allotted in a proper way hinting at the noisy scenes that may waste the valuable time of the Assembly.
