Critics felt that the single point agenda at the 'Chinthan Baithak Conclave', held after a gap of nine years in Jaipur, was only to project the future Prime Minister candidate of Congress.
However for Telangana aspirants who felt that the two day plenary would address the state formation issue, were a little disappointed. Many Congress leaders were sure that this meeting of all Congress ruling states, would definitely discuss the issue.
The two day plenary that commenced on Friday (January 18) would resume today, in spite of troubled weather. Yesterday the meet was addressed by the Congress led UPA Chair Person Sonia Gandhi, who urged leaders to cut their differences and strive together towards the party's victory in the coming 2014 elections.
Today most probably the core team would be going all out in projecting Rahul Gandhi as the prime minister candidate of the party.
Another heavy heart for the T pro-activists and now waiting till January 28 when the Congress is scheduled to announce on the issue becomes more painful.
However not all is over, many seniors contemplate that there was no need to discuss the T issue at the plenary, as the decision had already been taken by the high command much earlier itself.
On the other hand, another senior Congress leaders D Srinivas, claims that the high command was undecided over the formation.
What is right and what is wrong, let us wait till the scheduled day for the appropriate announcement. Nevertheless, to conclude, 'Chinthan Baithak Conclave', is no way deciding the state's fate, as these columns carried yesterday. (Wishesh AarKay)
