As many as 580 trapped sailors in Bay of Bengal were rescued by the special teams, which were deployed in the wake of Cyclone Neelam. Even after governments asking fishermen not to venture into sea, several sailors are apparently turning a deaf ear to those pleas. The rescued sailors were shifted to the rescue centres. They hail from Tamil Nadu and Visakhapatnam.
