Chidambaram seeks blessings of Lord Balaji

The union finance minister P Chidambaram, who was recently given this portfolio from home ministry, has visited Tirumala and sought the blessing of Lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy in Tirumala. Notably, Chidambaram is going to stay at Tirumala tonight and would leave for Delhi tomorrow, said sources. The finance minister was grandly welcomed by the newly formed TTD board.

The newly formed TTD board took oath of office last night wherein evening VIP darshan was cancelled. The five members of the new board, however, didn't take the oath since they didn't get good muhurtham. The remaining five members would take the oath of office on either August 31 or on some other where there would be a better muhurtham.
