Kanumuri Bapi Raju will continues as the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam Board Chairman as per the decision taken by the state government. Mr Bapiraju was congratulated for taking up the position for the second term by the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. The new committee with Mr Bapiraju as the Chairman has 13 other new members. On Saturday the dream of the veteran came true for another two years. In total the leader enjoyed in the divine service for three years grand bonanza.
The 14-member TTD board comprises Bapiraju (chairman), Nagaram MLA Pamula Rajeshwari Devi, Uppal MLA, Mr Raji Reddy, Mangalagiri MLA K. Kamala, Mr L.R. Shiva Prasad, Mr N. Kanayya, Mr Raghunath Viswanath Rao Deshpande, Mr Ch. Laxman Rao, Mr Repala Srinivas, Mr Chittori Ravindra and Mr G.V. Srinath Reddy. Apart from Mr Bapiraju and Ms Rajeshwari all others were new faces on the committee.
Hectic lobbying was underway for the coveted posts, however the existing Chairman was blessed with the second term by the Congress high command, due to his party seniority and his deserving service. The principal secretary to the government, revenue (endowments) Ms Chitra Ramachandran moved the file pertaining to reconstitution of TTD Board recently. And on Saturday the new board was nominated by the committee. Unlike the various temple boards that are nominated by the particular state, TTD case was different.
