Congress MP s from the state have thanked the prime minister Manmohan Singh for stopping the allocation of KG (Krishna Godavari) basin gas to Maharashtra from Andhra Pradesh. The MP s, who have attended the parliament sessions, this morning in Delhi have thanked the prime minister. It is known that certain amount of gas from the state was allotted to Ratnagiri Power Plant in Maharashtra, which has drawn a lot of criticism from all fraternities in the state.
The chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday rushed to Delhi where he had held wide range of talks with the prime minister, petroleum minister Jaipal Reddy and others. He even submitted a report to the PM wherein it was reportedly stated that the decision taken in 2008 was not a correct one. While the petroleum minister passed the ball from his court, stating that his role in the deal was minimal, the prime minister's office on Wednesday evening at last directed the petroleum ministry to cancel the allocation of gas.
