Twenty two students out of 78 candidates who appeared from EAMCET 2012 exam this year would got qualified to pursue the course of their choice despite their 'zero mark' in the entrace exam. The 20 students belonged to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST). EAMCET is the most sought after examination in the state to become an engineer or agricultural officer or a medical doctor and lakhs compete every year for a few MBBS seats. And nine of the 22 students who secured zero mark in EAMCET will also be allowed to pursue MBBS.
The scenario was the same last year too. Seventy three students secured zero in EAMCET 2010 and 26 out of them who belonged to SC, ST communities got admissions into Engineering and agricultural colleges.
