The Congress Candidate Pranab Mukherjee for the highest post in Republic India is an abled administator, hence favouring his choice was solicited by the AICC State Secretary Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Sunday. He urged representatives from all parties to support the finance mInister who is now the UPA candidate. The Congress leader also said that the FM was a veteran in politics and is worth taking up the nations highest responsibility.
The Congress leader also said except for a few parties most of them have not announced their decisions. He therefore urged party representatives to back the UPA candidate, cutting party lines..
On the other hand the former speaker P A Sangma has shown interest to run for the post, in spite of controvesies with his own party. Mr Sangma on Thursday said that he had resigned from the Sharad Pawar led National Congress Party and his membership from the Manipur assembly. Initially Mr Sangma was supported by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister along with her Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik saying no tribal candidate had so far been nominated for the post.The BJP also supported his candidature after futile attempts of persuading the former President Abdul Kalaam.
