The chief electoral officer Banwarlal  has said that they have received 35 nominations so far for the by-polls to 18 assembly constituencies and one Lok Sabha constituency. He has also said that all security arrangements are in full swing in the wake of by-polls. Already large amounts of cash has been seized, he said. He has also said that several cases were opened against the miscreants who allegedly tried to shift cash to influence the voters.

Elucidating the statistics, Banwarlal has said that as many as 17 crore rupees was seized in all the constituencies where by-polls will shortly take place. The liquor that they seized was one lakh twenty three thousand litres. They said they also seized 2006 weapons and arrested people are 2,786 in connection with peddling the liquor. The cases filed against them are 8,304.

Although by-polls are taking place in just 19 constituencies, the polls are looking like general elections given the fact that it’s a prestige war between Congress party and YSR Congress and to other parties, by-polls are like boons and a good chance to hope for a couple of seats.
