In the wake of by-polls to 18 assembly constituencies and one Lok Sabha constituency, the State Government shuffled 10 IPS officers in top cadres. APSRTC MD Prasada Rao has become the Director General of ACB. Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan has been transferred as RTC MD. DP Das would become the DG of Jails while Aruna Bahuguna was transferred will become Housing Corporation MD. Lokdendra Sharma becomes the Director General of SPF.

The recent shuffle in the top police officers apparently came in as a shock to many politicians in the state. The main reasons behind this sudden shuffle is, however, not revealed by the state government.
