Monsoon to hit state in June first week

Here’s good news to all those experiencing tough time in the state due to summer blues. The meteorological department has predicted that southwest monsoon is likely to hit the state in the first week of June itself. So, one can expect rainfall in another couple of days and once the monsoon hits, the mercury will automatically dip.

The meteorological department in Vishakapatnam has said that monsoon is going to hit Kerala coast in the last week of May and it would take around a week’s time for monsoons to travel from Kerala coast to Andhra Pradesh.

So, the time is very near to say good bye to air-conditioners and other alternatives to beat the heat. Usually monsoon will hit the state in the first week only but for past few years monsoons got delayed and people in the state experience summer even in the last week of June. This year too people were reportedly worried whether they had to face summer’s wrath even in June. And thanks to meteorological department for coming out with such chilling news!    (Phani)
