OU students take out peace rally

The students of Osmania University in Hyderabad have taken out a peace rally on the university campus this evening against the clashes that took place last night when beef festival was underway.

The students held responsible the vice chancellor for the entire episode.  The rally that started from the famous Arts College concluded at the administrative building, where the students sat and raise slogans against the vice chancellor.

Demanding the immediate action against the miscreants, the students asked the police to arrest the responsible people who stabbed a student last night during the clashes.

With vice chancellor Satyanarayana promising that advanced medical services would be provided to the victim besides ensuring that necessary steps are taken for avoiding such incidents in future, the students calmed down.

It may be recalled that the campus turned violent last night after miscreants tried to obstruct the beef festival. Despite police firing the tear gas shells, the miscreants continued nuisance on the campus by damaging the street  lights turning the campus dark and stabbing a campus student. The student was rushed to a nearby hospital. ABVP called for campus bandh today against these clashes. (Phani)
