Mamata Banerjee claims BJP was responsible for violence:- On Thursday, Sri Rama Navami rally was held in Howrah, Kolkata. In that violence was took place, stones, bricks were thrown. Police were deployed to control the situation in that area. But day after, on friday afternoon fresh clashes were erupted on the banks of Hooghly river when the policemen opened the roads which were closed due to the violence erupted on Thursday evening at Kazipara in Shibpur. While the police arrested 36 persons.

On friday afternoon, Amit Shah, Union home minister called the West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose and Sukanta Majumdar the state BJP chief and asked about the law and order situation in area.

The West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee enquired about the security lapses by the police in tackling the situation and assured that firm action would be taken against the errant policemen.

The Trinamul Congress Chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee claimed that BJP was responsible for plan the violence and she also said, “There was a police failure. I admit it and will take action on this. The police should have barricaded the entire area. But the cops must have relaxed the measures because they panicked. We will not tolerate this.”
