Police today arrested senior TDP leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu minutes before he was to begin his 2-day fast in protest against the TRS chief KCR’s reported surrender to congress president Sonia Gandhi on the issue of Telangana.
As soon as Narasimhulu arrived at the Gun Park along with senior TDP leader Errabelli Dayakara rao and scores of party supporters around 11.30 am, police who assembled in large numbers took him into custody. Other TDP leaders and workers were also taken into custody.
Narasimhulu and others tried to resist their arrest and argued with police but they were forcibly pushed into police vans and taken to different police stations.
Narasimhulu has recently turned very aggressive in his verbal attacks on KCR saying that the TRS chief has sold himself out to the congress leadership. “KCR has pledged the Telangana agitation with the congress leadership for personal gains,” Narasimhulu charged and announced he would take up a 2-day fast exposing the reported misdeeds of KCR.
Earlier, hundreds of TRS supporters reached the Gun Park and raised slogans against Motkupalli Narasimhulu. They also performed a milky bath to the martyrs’ memorial. (JUBS)
