TDP slams `tainted ministers'

The main opposition party Telugu Desam Party today slammed the ruling party over retaining the Ministers who were alleged by the court. The party demanded that the seven ministers must be suspended or forced to resign. The party also pointed at the  state excise and secondary education minister K Parthasarathy, who was convicted by a court in a FERA case. They questioned why had he not resigned till date.

TDP senior leaders Kadiyam Sri Hari and Motkupalli Narasimhulu questioned the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy over the issues. They further questioned under which constitution was Mr Parthasarathy was continuing in office. The leaders also said that apart from committing an offense the Minister also hid the fact in his affidavit filed for 2009 General Elections. They added, he has also violated the election model code.

The other six ministers were supposed to be Dharmana Prasada Rao, J Geeta Reddy, P Sabita Reddy, Kanna Lakshminarayana, and Ponnala Lakshmaiah who received notices from Supreme court. The Ministers' decisions on the 26 controversial Gos, taken during the late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's tenure as chief minister are to be investigated.

The sixth one was however the minister for law and courts Erasu Pratap Reddy  who was alleged to have convened to grant bail for the mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy. Mr Gali is also related to Mr Erasu. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
