Jana questions power cuts in Collectors’ Conference

Even as the Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy asked the District Collectors to stick to transparency in the implementation of welfare programmes and accord top priority to the developmental activities, Minister Jana Reddy questioned the Collectors on the need to impose power cuts now.

Addressing the Collectors after Kirankumar finished his speech in the Collectors’ Conference that began this morning, Jana said power cuts during the all people’s strike for Telangana were fully justified but there was no reason for the power cuts taking place now.

“We have to supply power to the farmers per 7 hours a day and if that is not properly implemented, the government will face problems,” he told the District Collectors. “There seems to be lot of difference between the actions and words of the officials,” said Jana expressing his disgust.

In response to this, Transco top brass told the conference that due to technical snags power production was crippled at the Kakathiya and NTPC power stations and the situation would improve after Dec 18.

At this point of time, the CM intervened and told the officials to buy power to ward off power cuts. (JUBS)
