Jana Reddy Objects To KCR Comments On Opposition Parties:- The comments made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in a press conference on opposition parties was objected by Leader of the Opposition, K Jana Reddy. He termed it as “unwarranted”.
Addressing to media persons at the Assembly, Jana Reddy said: “We congratulate the government for the win in the Singareni Trade Union Elections, and also appreciate the hard work that was put in by the other parties that contested in the elections. But, the words used by the CM, are hurtful. Not just for the Congress but for the other contesting parties as well,” he said.
The electoral defeat was taken in a sportive manner by all political parties including the Congress, but demeaning them was completely unwarranted, maintained Jana Reddy.
“Take Hyderabad for example, the city flourished during the Congress regime. For proof one only needs to look around and see the Hyderabad Central University, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and other establishments,” he added.
Referring to Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, he said: “Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have made supreme sacrifices for the country. And, this government seeks to give scant or rather no regard to their achievements. During the statehood struggle, Sonia Gandhi felt bad at the rising number of suicides and coerced the Centre into providing a separate State, irrespective of whether Congress comes to power,” he said. Tthe Congress did not give in to any political pressure from Andhra leaders, or any others and ensured that the statehood was achieved, added Jana Reddy.
