Mr Susil Kumar, counsel for the Pulivendula YSR Congress MLA Ms Vijayamma, today pleaded in the AP High court to cancel the stay imposed on the CBI’s preliminary probe against the alleged misdeeds of the TDP president Chandrababu Naidu during his stint as the chief minister.

The high court temporarily suspended the preliminary probe on Tuesday pending a final decision and the division bench consisting of the justices Ms Rohini and Ashutosh Mahanto continued with the hearing today on the vacation petitions filed by Chandrababu and others.

Susil kumar said since the CBI would conduct the probe and submit the report in a sealed cover, there is no need to suspend the preliminary prob. “In the last one month after the high court ordered the preliminary probe, no one suffered any loss of prestige because of the investigation and the stay should be removed,” he said.

“Why did you stay the CBI probe and why are they running away from the preliminary investigation?” Susil kumar questioned the division bench.  (JUBS)
