Loopholes in BJP, TDP alliance

Loopholes in BJP, TDP alliance

Ever since Bharatiya Janata Party and Telugu Desam Party announced alliance, leaders from all corners of both the states weren't happy. The sole reason for this displeasure is sharing of seats in the elections and despite few hurdles, in Telangana both the parties managed to distribute seats and filed nominations.

However from there, the real headache grew as aspirants from the parties agitated and are protesting with seats distribution being improper. The first fight started when BJP asked for 10 Lok Sabha seats in Seemandhra region and TDP cadre has revolted against this claiming BJP doesn't has enough stamina to contest in ten Lok Sabha constituencies. With protest mounting on TDP, it forced BJP to bring down the number of Lok Sabha and finally agreed to contest in only four Lok Sabha seats.

Nonetheless, things got worse during the Assembly seat sharing. BJP was interested in contesting 45 Assembly seats but their choice of constituencies went wrong. BJP opted to battle in many constituencies where they are absolutely weak and which could make oppositions more strong. TDP Cadre noticed the choices of BJP made and protested that BJP should reconsider their decision.  TDP supporters to give back the seats to them and Chandrababu Naidu was under severe pressure to pacify his party workers. Off late, many TDP leaders filed nominations even after alloting those to BJP.

RSS Involvement in selection

It is heard from the TDP sources that RSS was responsible for this fight between TDP and BJP. RSS has been instrumental in selecting candidates and constituencies for BJP and there was absolutely nothing the Seemandhra or BJP high command did. Ironically RSS roped a candidate from nowhere and who is also not part of BJP. This not only irked the TDP but also the BJP cadre.

Missed Opportunity

When Daggubati Purandeshwari joined BJP, everyone expected she would seek re-election from the Vizag Lok Sabha seat. However, BJP wasted this chance and even did not TDP to take control over this segment. Former Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao was very much ready to contest from Vizag Lok Sabha, however, BJP demanded this seat. TDP accepted the offer and though Vizag would go to Purandeshwari but at the last minute, she was alloted Rajampet, making way to the oppositions. YSR Congress party eyed this seat and immediately it got to know that Purandeshwari is not contesting Vizag, Jagan roped his mother Vijayamma here and now the victory for YSRCP is little easy than any other party.

The above are only small examples how BJP and TDP wasted their chance to grab the people's faith. Now as TDP cadre protested, Chandrababu Naidu is reconsidering the alliance, however, BJP high command got altered and is pacifying Mr. Naidu.

Today is last for nominations and in a hurry many TDP leaders filed nominations as rebels while TDP is mum over the issue. April 19th being the deadline for withdrawal of nominations, how BJP and TDP will sort out their indifferences and got to the public is something both the parties should work.
